I’m Dave Britzius – your new Flight Simulator Cockpit Maker (hopefully) or (if you live far away from Cape Town) your new Flight Simulator Cockpit Architect and / or adviser.
In a nutshell, I run a small little business where I personally work with you to tailor a special cockpit that meets your needs and stays within your budget.
If I am building your cockpit: The workshop is situated in Cape Town, but I will install your new simulator anywhere in South Africa.
If I am your cockpit architect: The Graphics/CAD is done in my office in Cape Town. I’m an E-mail away.
I specialize in providing complete built-up cockpits using X-Plane as a software basis. I can supply the hardware, build the simulator enclosure to suit your requirements (a desk top system or a full enclosure, and I can obtain any specialized components like yokes, pedals and panels on your behalf.
I do all the difficult work (including set-up and configuration) to get you up and running as soon as possible.
If you live far away from Cape Town, I can supply you with all the plans and instructions to enable you to build your own flight simulator.
If you are no good at woodwork, simply hire a local carpenter/cabinet maker and I’ll liaise with him/her.
If you are no good at assembling or overclocking a PC, hire a local computer nerd and I’ll liaise with him/her.
With a professional photographic background, 15 years of experience teaching CAD (computer aided design and drafting) and high-end computer hardware experience as a computer dealer since the 1980’s (that’s over 35 year’s worth), I think I have a pretty good idea of what I’m doing – and the key to a good Flight Simulator experience is the utilization of the correct computer components which are correctly assembled and properly configured. (A well-configured flight simulation computer is not necessarily the same as a correctly configured gaming computer.)
I have a fully equipped woodwork shop where all the cockpit parts are designed, refined and built.
If you are in the Northern suburbs of Cape Town and you would like to come and see one of these cockpits (and fly in one, of course) then fill in the contact form and we can set up an appointment.
If you would like to phone me, that’s OK, but you may well just get my plastic secretary since I am most often either in the workshop or at a client’s premises, so leave a message with it or better still, start an email conversation by filling in the form below and I will contact you as soon as possible.
It's best to get hold of me by e-mail - then there is a record of the conversation. I far prefer this method rather than social media or a phone call. Also, I am often in the workshop or at a customer's place where my phone is not turned on, so the phone is not always the fastest way to get hold of me.
So... please just fill out this form and I'll get back to you as soon as I can.
